Coordinate Disruption​

This research used a simple still life, a cup on a table. The still life was drawn multiple ways, using charcoal, pencil, sculpture, and a computer. To recreated the still life in the computer space, within a CAD program, the mass was represented with points in a three dimensional space.

Then, the coordinate system of the three dimensional space was disrupted. Using a Python script, the individual coordinates of each point were converted from cartesian coordinate system (an [X,Y,Z] space) to a polar coordinate system (a [U,V,W] space). The new [W] coordinate was found by taking the distance from a fixed plane and adding it to the value of the [Z] coordinate. Using this program, the environment of the still life within the computer can be changed. In this example, it was changed to a spherical environment.
